Vintage custom overpainting "Octopus in Central Park". This acrylic painting measures 16" x 20". This sunset painting has lovely vibrant colors with a surprise octopus.

I am a professional artist and for fun I enjoy upcycling old paintings. An overpainting is where a vintage painting is repurposed by adding new elements or painting new things into it can be broadly referred to as overpainting. Thus, artists in contemporary contexts also engage in this practice to add depth, texture, or new meaning to existing pieces.
