Details
Vinyl plays with occasional light-crackles (play-graded). 12" Single. Generic Casablanca cover has a few creases near edges (front/back); surface impressions on back, scuffing, surface abrasions. Inner-sleeve is original (generic white). Spine is easy-to-read with mild-wear. Minor shelf-wear along top/bottom-edge and corners. Opening is crisp with signs of light use and divots. (Not a cut-out.)
Can't Stop the Music (12" Single), by Village People, released in 1980 by the Village People, served as the soundtrack for their film of the same name and was their sixth studio album, marking their final release with Casablanca Records. It reached No. 9 on the UK Albums Chart, No. 47 on the Billboard 200, and hit No. 1 in Australia, though it was the first Village People album not to achieve Gold certification by the RIAA. The title track, Can't Stop the Music, became a club play chart success and a moderate radio hit but was nominated for a Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Original Song and did not achieve gold status. The album also featured Y.M.C.A. with new lead vocals by Ray Simpson, though this version was not released as a single and thus never charted. Historically significant, the album coincided with the decline of disco's popularity, reflected in the film's commercial failure, and marked the departure of original member Randy Jones.
